TRACE Postdoctoral Researcher Pako Chalkidis presented the paper “Trans Pharma Experimentations: Prostate Cancer Hormonal Treats and Tricks” at the European Sociological Association (ESA) Research Network 23 – Sexuality Mid-Term Conference, titled “Deviants, Sinners, and Rebels. Sexuality Studies in Times of Trouble.” The conference took place on 11–12 September 2025 at the University of Palermo, Italy.

The presentation was delivered in the panel “Trans and Non-Binary Experiences in Challenging Worlds” chaired by Professor Surya Monro. Dr. Chalkidis’ paper explored the intersections of trans embodiment, ageing, and the use of pharmaceutical drugs. It highlighted practices of experimentation, adaptation, and resistance within highly medicalised settings.
