The Executive Committee of the European Sociological Association (ESA) met in Palermo, Italy, on 11–12 September 2025, in collaboration with the University of Palermo, bringing together leading sociologists from across Europe.
Ana Cristina Santos, Principal Investigator of TRACE – Tracing Queer Citizenship Over Time, participated in the meeting as an elected member of the ESA Executive Committee. The gathering brought together leading sociologists from across Europe to reflect on current challenges and discuss future directions for Sociology. Through her role as chair of the committee on Public Sociology, Diversity and Sustainability, Ana Cristina Santos is actively contributing to shaping the future of European sociology, ensuring these topics remain central in sociological agendas.
