Anže Jurček at 6th International Conference Sexuality & Social Work: “Ageing Queerly: Living Archives of Resistance, Struggle and Joy”

Anže Jurček – Slovenia
Title: The Joys and Challenges of LGBTQI+ Ageing Research in Slovenia

Anže Jurček (University of Ljubljana) shared insights from the Slovenian case study on LGBTQI+ ageing, presented within the TRACE symposium “Ageing Queerly: Living Archives of Resistance, Struggle and Joy”.

His talk reflected on the rewards and complexities of working with older queer communities, from building trust to addressing historical trauma and recording the richness of lived experience.
These findings contribute to a broader European conversation about the value of the resilience and knowledge carried by those who have lived through, and beyond, eras of criminalisation and social exclusion.
