As part of project TRACE’s engaged research orientation, members of the team participated in Lisbon’s 25th LGBTI+ Pride March at Avenida da Liberdade (Lisbon). In preparation, the team joined local LGBTQI+ activists to design age-sensitive posters for the march.

In the march, project TRACE was responsible for setting in motion the first “Vintage block” of Lisbon’s LGBTQI+ Pride March – which counted with the participation of pioneers of the LGBT movement in Portugal, members of the Portuguese parliament, and many others. This block attracted media attention – fostering the public visibility of LGBTQ+ ageing and ageism as central topics for activism and policy-making.
