TRACE researcher Pedro Fidalgo presented the paper “The Need to Flee and the Will to Come Back: An Agroqueer Autobiography” at the European Sociological Association (ESA) Research Network 23 – Sexuality Mid-Term Conference, titled “Deviants, Sinners, and Rebels. Sexuality Studies in Times of Trouble.” The conference was held on 11–12 September 2025 at the University of Palermo, Italy.
The presentation took place in the panel “Social and Political Change.” Through an autobiographical approach, the paper reflected on rural queer life courses, engaging with questions of space, belonging, and political subjectivity, and highlighting the analytical value of autobiographical methods in sexuality studies.
