The European Sociological Association (ESA) awarded Joana Brilhante the 2024 Young Scholar Award.

This award by ESA distinguises her paper ”’Out[side], loud and proud!’: An insular approach to LGBTQ narratives and experiences” on LGBTQ+ narratives in insular contexts, and her ongoing work as a researcher at project TRACE, at the Centre for Social Studies (CES), University of Coimbra.
