Media Appearance: Outlasting and the Visibility of Older Queer Lives – esQrever

The documentary Outlasting — Living Archives of Older Queers was the focus of a feature article highlighting the importance of visibility, memory, and resistance among older LGBTQI+ people. The chronicle reflects on the film’s contribution to challenging ageism and historical erasure, while emphasising the role of collective memory as a tool for social and political resistance.

Co-Directed by Ana Cristina Santos and Nuno Barbosa, Outlasting emerges from the European Research Council funded project TRACE and centres the life stories of older queer people in Southern Europe, foregrounding their experiences as central to understanding both past struggles and future challenges.
